Croquet

poster croquet 2021We had a great afternoon of croquet on Sunday 12 September 2021, and the weather held; it started to drizzle lightly only after the final game.

Congratulations to the new champions Kate and Dave.

Thanks yet again to St Neot Taverners Cricket Club who let us loose on their beautiful field.

Croquet Tournament 2019

snip croquet2019b

Our most recent croquet afternoon was held on Sunday 8 September 2019, at St Neot Cricket Club field.

  • The sun shone, and organisers were both surprised and delighted to see the numbers of people who came along, many of whom had barely if ever wielded a croquet mallet before.  It was a lovely friendly atmosphere, with a beautiful field, fine weather, a lovely spread of food…  and of course such talent!

Many thanks to those who brought their croquet sets with them;  even more to those who couldn’t come but loaned their sets.  Big thanks too to St Neot Taverners Cricket Club who let us loose on their beautiful field.

Altogether there were more than a dozen pairs playing, and the trophy was awarded to winners Birgit and Chris.

Croquet Tournament 2016

The croquet tournament was held on 31 July 2016, the first for several years that had perfect weather. It was a friendly doubles competition held at the St Neot Taverners Cricket Club field (many thanks to them for granting us the use of the field for this day).

Seven pairs played, and this year’s winners were Malcolm and Jenny.
